Building Community, Wherever We Are

For us, moving overseas isn’t just about joining a new school—it’s about building a home and investing in a community. We believe that the best parts of international living happen when people come together, which is why we absolutely love hosting gatherings for our friends and colleagues. Whether it’s a casual weekend get-together or our (somewhat famous) annual Christmas party, our door is always open.

Tyler

Tyler is our family’s resident chef and unofficial social coordinator. Outside of school hours, you can often find him on the mound pitching for the staff softball team or leading adventurous groups of colleagues on weekend street food outings to explore the local culinary scene. He is also an avid disc golf player (though he’ll be the first to admit his enthusiasm vastly outweighs his skill level!). At home, his favorite part of the day is winding down by reading Harry Potter with Ruthie.

Allie

Allie loves balancing an active, outdoor lifestyle with cozy downtime. She is an avid reader and a dedicated Pilates enthusiast. On the weekends, you’ll frequently find her out on a bike ride—either exploring with local community cycling groups or cruising around with the family. When it’s time to relax and recharge, her go-to comfort is binge-watching a gripping true crime docuseries or revisiting the familiar charm of Gilmore Girls.

Meet Ruthie (Age 5)

Ruthie is a vibrant, deeply caring five-year-old who approaches life with a wonderful sense of curiosity. She is incredibly adaptable and willing to give absolutely anything a try! Her delightfully eclectic list of interests includes doing arts and crafts, swimming, practicing Jiu Jitsu, listening to David Bowie, and playing Mario video games with Daddy.

As an international school kid, Ruthie loves being part of the campus community. She thrives in the classroom, is academically right on track with her peers, and brings a kind, inclusive energy to her friendships. She is excited for our next family adventure!
